Flat Roof Systems - Miami Roofing Contractor
Built Up Roofing (BUR)
This Miami based flat roofing system is time tested and applied using hot asphalt. Layers of premium re-inforced fiberglass are embedded into place using a kettle and hot asphalt. The fiberglass layers are applied in a staggered method, built up on top of each other. A fiberglass mat, containing reflective mineral surfaced granules, is applied as top sheet to protect the roofing system from the elements. Non-prorated labor and material warranties are available up to 20 years.
Modified Bitumen
Generally, a premium alternative to BUR, Modified Bitumen is applied using a hot asphalt or open flame torch. The method of application depends on the system desired and the use of the building. Premium, heavy duty modified bitumen-reinforced polyester or fiberglass roofing plies are mopped or torched into place. The system is then built up by staggering additional plies. A reflective mineral surfaced Modified Bitumen cap sheet is applied, adding to the waterproofing integrity. Modified Bitumen is known for its excellent elongation characteristics and tear resistance. Non-prorated labor and material warranties are available for up to 20 years.
Single-Ply
Being lightweight and bright white makes Single-Ply the ultimate choice for energy sustainability. Energy Star and Leed complaint, Single-Ply roof systems are being specified by engineers, architects and building owners at an increasing rate. The material is made from either Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or Thermoplastic Olefin (TPO). In fact, TPO is the fastest growing segment of the flat roofing market.
Generally applied over an insulated cover board, Single-Ply can be installed using screws and plates, bonding adhesive, or asphalt, and a self-adhering version is also available. The laps are hot air welded together, creating a seam-free, monolithic roofing system.
Non-prorated labor and materials warranties are available up to 25 years.
